Description: |
Union Pacific GE C44ACCTE faces west on eastbound coal empties returning from the Intermountain Power Project near Delta, Utah. The location is Leamington, Utah on Union Pacific's Sharp Subdivision about six miles east of Lynndyl. UP's Sharp Subdivision is the old Provo Subdivision between Provo and Lynndyl. Six miles west of this location is the town of Lynndyl where the Sharp Subdivision from Provo connects with UP's former Los Angeles and Salt Lake Mainline to Milford, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The train is about to enter Leamington Canyon and Sevier River Canyon. The railroad will cross the highway at Soma Grade Crossing before entering Sevier River Canyon. From there the railroad will turn north at Mills heading through Nephi, Santaquin towards Provo. |
